Problem with Sony Handycam Camcorders

1. Can I recover video that was deleted from my Sony Handycam hard drive?
I have a DCR-SR40 which is a 30GB hard drive. I accidentally deleted something I needed off of it.
I figured it was like a computer hard drive that doesn’t really get rid of the info until it is written over. Thanks in advance.

2. Is there anyway to recover deleted videos from a DVD+RW from a Sony Handycam?
This may sound like a dumb question but I am just going to try anyways. I have a sony handycam and I had very important video on the DVD+RW. I accidently formatted it instead of finalizing it. Is there anyway to get the video back? I am doubting it because it could not have been saved anywhere else. Just trying to see if I have any luck….

If you lose valuable photos
Do not take any video or photos with your Camcorder before your recovery or the previous videos will be rewritten. If data overwriting occurs, the ratio of getting back lost photos from your camcorder will be reduced.
